Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Coral Code ("we," "us") covering your use of the Lumis app and lumisapp.org. By creating an account or using Lumis, you agree to them.

1. Who can use Lumis

You must be at least 13 years old. If you're under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission. You're responsible for your account and for keeping your login credentials to yourself.

2. What Lumis does

Lumis turns course materials you upload (like syllabi and notes) into a semester plan and study tools — calendars, reminders, flashcards, quizzes, and AI-generated study help. Your courses, assignments, and notes are stored on your device; account and usage data are handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

3. AI-generated content

Lumis uses AI, and AI makes mistakes. Extracted deadlines, generated flashcards, quiz answers, and study explanations can be incomplete or wrong. Always verify important dates and facts against your actual syllabus and course materials — Lumis is a study aid, not a substitute for them. We're not responsible for missed deadlines or academic outcomes.

4. Academic integrity

Lumis is built to help you learn — organizing your semester, practicing with flashcards and quizzes, and understanding concepts. You're responsible for using it in line with your school's academic-integrity policies.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you upload. You give us permission to process that content (including through third-party AI providers) solely to provide Lumis's features to you. Only upload materials you have the right to use — your own course materials qualify; don't upload someone else's copyrighted content wholesale.

6. Subscriptions and billing

Lumis offers a free tier and a paid Premium subscription. Payment, renewal, free trials, and cancellation are all handled by Apple through your App Store account. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in your Apple subscription settings; cancelling during a free trial means you won't be charged. Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies.

7. Acceptable use

  • Don't abuse, overload, reverse-engineer, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service.
  • Don't use automated tools to scrape or bulk-query the AI features.
  • Don't use Lumis for anything unlawful or to infringe others' rights.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, and apply fair-use limits to AI features to keep the service working for everyone.

8. Our content

The Lumis app, brand, design, and software are ours and protected by law. These terms don't grant you any rights in them beyond using the app as intended.

9. Ending your account

You can stop using Lumis and delete your account at any time from the app's settings (see our Privacy Policy for what deletion covers). We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms.

10. Disclaimers and limits on liability

Lumis is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Coral Code's total liability for any claim related to Lumis is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited.

11. Changes

We may update these terms as Lumis evolves. If we make material changes, we'll note it in the app or by email, and the "last updated" date above will change. Continuing to use Lumis after changes take effect means you accept them.
