Coming to iPhone · Fall 2026
Your whole semester, illuminated.
Upload your syllabus and Lumis builds your semester. Then feed it your notes, slides, and readings — and it goes and learns the rest of the course on its own. Every deadline, every study tool, one app.
Free to try — everything unlocked for 7 days at launch.
How it works
Syllabus week, solved in one sitting
The syllabus already contains your entire semester. Lumis is the first planner that treats it that way — and then keeps learning your course all term.
Drop your syllabi
Snap a photo or upload the PDF or DOCX for every course — or send it straight from Files, Mail, or Canvas with the share sheet.
Lumis reads every line
Every assignment, quiz, exam, reading and grading weight comes out — even the schedule buried in a table on page six.
Add your course material
Upload lecture notes, slide decks, readings and your own notes. Lumis learns your course from what your professor actually teaches.
Your semester appears
One calendar, per-course trackers, smart reminders, flashcards, quizzes and a tutor that knows your material — all generated for you.
The course brain
Lumis learns your version of the course
Generic study apps quiz you on a generic course. Lumis builds a private knowledge base for each class you take, from three sources at once.
Source 01 · your syllabus
The skeleton of the semester
Dates, weights, topics, exam windows, required texts, late policies, office hours. Everything the syllabus states, structured.
- DOCX
- photo
- share sheet
Source 02 · your uploads
What your professor actually taught
Add lecture slides, handouts, readings, lab manuals, past problem sets and your own class notes. Lumis reads them and folds them into the course — so its flashcards use your professor's terminology and its quizzes cover what was emphasized in your lecture, not a textbook average.
- lecture notes
- slide decks
- readings
- handouts
- your notes
Source 03 · Lumis's own research
It goes and fills the gaps
From the course code, title and topic list, Lumis researches the subject itself — building background on each topic, worked examples, and the standard concepts a course like yours covers. When a week on the syllabus is one vague line, it still knows what that week is about.
- topic background
- worked examples
- key terms
- concept links
One private brain per course
Everything Lumis knows about a class lives in that class. Ask it anything, and the answer comes from your course — not the internet's best guess.
Everything in the app
A planner that also studies with you
Planners know your deadlines but can't teach. Flashcard apps can quiz you but don't know your semester. Lumis does both, from one upload.
Syllabus scanner
Photo, PDF or DOCX in — every dated deadline and grade weight out. Import straight from the iOS share sheet. No typing your semester in by hand.
Course material uploads
Add lecture notes, slides, readings and handouts to any course. Lumis learns from them, then teaches you back with your professor's own terms.
Automatic course research
Lumis researches your subject on its own — topic background, worked examples and key terms — so it understands the course even where the syllabus is thin.
Semester calendar & widget
Every course on one calendar with an all-assignments list view — plus a home-screen widget so today's work finds you before you open the app.
Grade-weighted priorities
A 30% final outranks a 2% quiz. Lumis knows what each assignment is worth and plans your effort where it moves your grade.
Smart reminders
Nudges timed to the work, not just the due date — start a big paper early, review before a quiz, and never rediscover a deadline the night before.
AI flashcards & quizzes
Decks and practice tests generated from your real course brain, with an exam-prep mode that drills what your material says will be tested.
Lumis AI tutor
Ask it to explain a concept, walk a problem, or summarize a lecture you uploaded. It answers from your course, and points at the material it used.
Focus, timer & finals mode
Per-class study sessions with a lock-in Focus tab, logged study time by course, and a finals mode for when it's time to buckle down.
GPA tracking & predictions
A live GPA calculator per course and overall — see exactly what you need on the final, before the final.
Notes that become study tools
Take notes per class inside Lumis, or upload the ones you already have — then turn any of them into a summary, a deck or a quiz in a tap.
Per-course home
Each class gets its own space: deadlines, grades, materials, decks and study time in one place — so "what's going on in BIO" is one tap, not five apps.

Our story
Two students at the University of Miami who wanted one app for all of it
We're Hudson and Jesse — students at the University of Miami and friends who kept having the same conversation every August: why does surviving a semester take five different apps? A calendar for deadlines, a flashcard app for studying, a spreadsheet for grades, a notes app, a timer — and a syllabus buried in PDFs that none of them ever read.
So we built the tool we actually wanted: everything you need for the semester, in one place. Upload your syllabi once and Lumis becomes your calendar, your assignment tracker, your flashcards and quizzes, your GPA calculator, your study timer, and your tutor — one app that knows your whole course.
We're not an ed-tech giant. We're two students who upload our own syllabi every semester and test every feature on our own classes first. If it doesn't survive a Miami finals week, it doesn't ship.
Lumis is built by Coral Code, the two-person studio we started to make the software we wished existed. Lumis is our first product, and it's just the beginning.
Hudson · Co-founder
Finance student, golfer, and the organized one — the friend whose calendar people borrow before exams. Hudson shapes the product and makes sure Lumis works the way students actually plan.
Jesse · Co-founder
The engineer of the duo — happiest deep in the code, building the AI engine that turns a messy syllabus PDF and a folder of lecture notes into a whole semester. If Lumis feels like magic, that's Jesse's side of the shop.
When does Lumis launch?
Beta testing on TestFlight starts in August 2026, with the App Store launch targeted for the start of the school year. Waitlist members get beta invites first.
What can I upload besides the syllabus?
Lecture notes, slide decks, readings, handouts, lab manuals, past problem sets, and your own notes — as PDFs, documents, or photos. Everything you add goes into that course's knowledge base, so its flashcards, quizzes and explanations get sharper as the semester goes on.
What does "Lumis researches my course" mean?
Your syllabus names the course and its topics but rarely explains them. Lumis takes that topic list and builds its own background on each one — the standard concepts, key terms and worked examples a course like yours covers — so it can teach a week that the syllabus describes in four words. Your material always comes first; research fills the gaps around it.
Will it read my professor's messy syllabus?
That's the whole point. Lumis handles PDFs, DOCX files and photos, and it's built for real syllabi — schedules buried in tables, dates without years, "week 9" formats, and recurring quizzes. If it ever misses one, you can fix it in a tap.
What happens to the files I upload?
They're processed to build your personal semester plan and study materials for your account — that's it. Your courses, notes and uploads belong to you, we don't sell data, and you can delete any file, any course, or your whole account at any time. Details in our privacy policy.
Is using it allowed at my school?
Lumis is a study tool, not a ghostwriter — it organizes your semester and quizzes you on your own material. Academic-integrity rules vary by course and instructor, so follow your school's policy on AI assistance for graded work.
What platforms is it on?
iPhone first, including the home-screen widget and share-sheet import. Other platforms come later — the waitlist is where we'll announce them.
How much will Premium cost?
Final pricing is announced at launch, priced for a student budget, with a 7-day free trial. Joining the waitlist locks in the early-bird rate.
